Who is responsible for change?
It has become increasingly clear that change in the music and festival industry does not come from a single source—it is a shared responsibility to support artists' careers and well-being, the future of our planet, and greater diversity and equality.
In this talk, we will explore how festival organizers, venues, record labels, and others carry a huge responsibility, but also how artists themselves have a platform from which they can drive change. In Sweden, Climate Live has been working on how artists can use their platform for activism and will share concrete examples of how artists and their fanbases can put the climate crisis on the agenda through music.
Speakers: Louise Lindén, Sustainable Festival Expert, LiveGreen // Andreas Magnusson, Project Manager, Climate Live / LiveGreen.
This session is part of the theme block ‘Let's Talk Live Entertainment’.
Presented in collaboration with Promus & SPOT+.

The Superpowers of Music & Music Festivals as Change Drivers
Music festivals have evolved from being mere entertainment to becoming platforms for social change. With their unique ability to shape culture, they can do more than just reduce their environmental footprint – they can influence attitudes and inspire action. Festival audiences enter a space that is open to new ideas, making festivals a powerful arena for change.
This panel explores the role, responsibility, and potential of festivals in driving cultural, social, and environmental development. We will discuss real-life initiatives, challenges, and opportunities – including how artists can engage with festivals that take a stand.
Panel: Fruzsina Szép, Goodlive, Managing & Festival Director SUPERBLOOM, Festival Director Lollapalooza Berlin (DE) // Thomas Sønderby Jepsen, Head of Music at Roskilde Festival (DK) // Rikke Andersen, Festival Director SPOT Festival (DK) // Moderator: Fie Neergaard, moderator and music communicator.

Roundtable: How Can We Create Change Using Culture as a Catalyst?
How can we use art and music as catalysts for change — at our events, festivals, and in society at large? And how can we shift from being reactive to being proactive when it comes to the most pressing agendas?
These are the questions we’re putting on the table. We’ll reflect, challenge each other, and be inspired by different perspectives on how cultural events, art, and music can challenge the status quo and move people — both directly and in more indirect or alternative ways.
Everyone is welcome to join the conversation and reflect together on how we, both as individuals and as an industry, can create meaningful change.
Facilitator: Majken Overgaard, Independent curator and writer.
